Tippmann SL-68

The Tippmann SL-68 was the mainstay of rental fleets back in the 1990s. This robust cast alloy Nelson based pump action paintball marker seemed almost indestructible.

The SL-68 was released in 1987 and was quickly followed by an improved model the SL-68 II in 1989. The major differences between the two being the alloy grip with built in bottom line on the mark II model. Production of the Tippmann SL-68 II ran from 1989 – 2003. But this wasn’t quite the end of the story though. The SL68 II was resurrected in 2009 before being phased out again in 2012.

From the looks of it the SL-68 shown has had very little use. The SL-68 II on the other hand was part of a rental fleet and whilst it has signs of wear and tear it still presents well. In my opinion this is a testament to the robust nature of its design.
