1991 Southern Cross Masters
The first Australian international paintball tournament “The Southern Cross Masters Invitational” was held in Newcastle in 1991. It was a ten man event and featured the American team “The Green Machine”. The Green Machine was a US team made up of industry professionals who promoted paintball worldwide.
Since I was playing I didn’t get much of a chance to take many photos apart from a handful of dodgy shots. Pumps were the rule back then with just a handful of semis including PMI-3s and Glenn Palmer’s custom marker. I had just bought a PMI-3 semi auto which you can see in one of the photos. It was won by the Australian team the Blackwood Hunters with The Green Machine coming in second.
